Here at Trinity Valley we offer time with horses.

Being around horses gives us opportunities for confidence building. learning and growth, mindfulness, play and exploration and physical exercise- who needs the gym when you have a horse!

We offer horse lessons, horse therapy sessions and holiday programmes for all ages and abilities in our outdoor arena and surrounding facilities.

Our lesson barn is located in rural Pyes Pa, on the outskirts of Tauranga, in the beautiful Bay of Plenty.

Our goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment for everyone.

About us...

Trinity Valley was established over 20 years ago by Pete and Carla Townsend, growing their business into what is now a trusted equine learning facility in the Bay Of Plenty. In recent years Anne McNabb has taken over as barn manager and instructor along with a small team. Whilst Pete and Carla have taken a step back from the day to day running of the barn, they still play an active role in the business.

Anne McNabb

Barn Manager and Instructor

About: Anne is our head instructor and has been with Trinity Valley for 7 years. Our amazing barn manager has a big love for horses and loves equine bodywork. She rode as a child in the UK and returned to riding as an adult. After moving to NZ with her family, she gained lots of experience working with children and those with special needs in the education sector. Anne is also a pet mum of 2 dogs, cat and 6 ducks.

Fun fact: Loves singing and interior decorating.

Amelia McNabb

Equine, Admin & Media Manager

About: Amelia has been riding for over 20 years since she was a child and is the daughter of Anne. She joined the Trinity team back in 2020 and was a former student of Pete's since 2007. She takes care of the horses, farm and preps the lessons for our clients. Amelia runs our admin and media (website and social media profiles). Amelia owns previous Trinity school horses; Phoenix and Munro... and also Meeko the rabbit who comes to visit and greets our guests.

Pete Townsend

Business Owner

About: Pete founded Trinity Valley with his wife Carla over 20 years ago. After moving several locations over the years they settled again in Omanawa. From the USA, Pete is a highly experienced teacher and horse trainer who was a competitive show jumper when he was younger, competing both in America and NZ. Pete is now a pastor in training for his church and whilst taking a step back from teaching he is still an involved business owner in-between his studies.
